A good saltwater trolling reel should have the following three qualities. 1. Have powerful drag to stop big fish. 2. Hold plenty of 60-80 lb line, and 3. be light weight to make long stand up battles less tiring. I am pleased to say that the Peen Squall 30VSW checks all the boxes. We have tested the heck out of this reel over the past few years and they do the job nicely. Load it up with braid and no need for fifties or larger provided you are not high speed trolling. Same internal gearing and build as the gold series Penn reels at half the price!
